BIRCHGROVE HOUSE
The Birchgrove House is another project taken over from Gary Lewin in 2007. (see further explanation of Gary Lewin at Northbridge House). Macnmah Architects helped to gain a subsequent modification approval from Leichhardt Council, before proceeding to coordinating consultants and producing construction documents. The project is currently on hold. The drawings seen on this site are by Macnmah Architects.
EAST KILLARA HOUSE
The East Killara House was taken over from Gary Lewin Architect in 2007. (see further explanation of Gary Lewin at Northbridge House).
Macnmah Architects acted as architects during the build, providing super-seeding applications to council, construction documentation and contract administration services.
NORTHBRIDGE HOUSE
Macnmah Architects took over the Northbridge House project from Gary Lewin Architect. Gary was a mentor and hero to the firm, due to his outstanding qualities as a person and architect. Gary tragically passed away after developing pancreatic cancer in 2007, only weeks after making his first sketch design presentation to the owners of the property. It was with great sadness that Macnmah Architects took over the project, whilst it being felt a great honor to do so. The firm intends of delivering a building that is true to Garys intent and brilliance. At this stage Macnmah Architects has produced construction documents after gaining councils approval for the development.
Garys hand drawn, ground floor sketch plan is shown here along with a photograph of the model he made. As with all projects, the house has evolved during the design process, but the house is essentially the same as Garys initial design.

Hospitality Design
Macnmah Architects specialise in hospitality, having worked on more than 70 pubs and clubs for some of Australia's leading hotel groups. Drawing on our teams extensive knowledge of a hotels function and construction, we devise comprehensive responses that capitalize on a hotels core purpose, locale and clientele.
We incorporate the latest developments in gaming, wagering and entertainment systems with an in-depth understanding of bars, bistros and restaurants to create venues whose diverse parts deliver a humming whole.
Commercial Design
Macnmah Architects work on a variety of commercial projects, delivering quality design solutions that address the clients core constraints of time and money. In the dynamic world of commercial construction, we adopt a flexible approach to work with our clients desired procurement arrangements, and if need be, explain all the viable options.
Residential Design
Macnmah Architects have successfully delivered renovations and new single dwelling and apartment buildings for both owner-occupiers and developers. We ensure clients new to building their own home understand, and feel comfortable with, all the required steps necessary to make the dream happen. We offer friendly and professional advice relating to design, building procurement and budget and can help with:

Ecologically Sustainable Design

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECTS
Jason McCarthy and Darren Mah.
Both graduates of Newcastle Universitys School of Architecture, Jason and Darren first worked together in the early 90s. In 2007, after working in different practices within Australia and abroad, they came together to form Macnmah Architects.
Jason and Darren bring a breadth and depth of experience and expertise to Macnmah. Jason has experience with a great variety of residential, civic and corporate design projects. Darren, for his part, has developed his expertise working in-depth on large-scale public works in the transport, hospitality and commercial sector. Together, they are able draw on their wide-ranging skills and different architectural backgrounds to get the best out of every project.
